3D EVENT DESIGN INTERN

MKG seeks 6 event design interns to assist on a variety of design projects. The design intern will primarily be responsible for assisting a full-time designer - from participating in initial brainstorming sessions, creating floor plans and renderings for presentations to creating technical drawings, working with fabricators and overseeing the final staging of all design components. The intern will also be asked to produce 2D work including digital and printed invitations, mood boards and large- and small-format print graphics.


We will be looking to fill 4 positions in our NY office, and 2 with the possibility for 3 at our LA office.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop
  • Strong CAD skills – SketchUp experience is a plus
  • Be working towards a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Industrial / Environmental / Scenic Design, Architecture, Interior or related field (or a recent graduate)

Requirements:

Responsibilities include:

  • 3D modeling of environments, displays, installations, etc.
  • Ideation and design of custom interior and scenic elements
  • Building floor plans in Vectorworks/CAD — assessing guest flow and estimating capacities
  • Development of conceptual design theme — creating cohesive mood boards and mock-ups to communicate ideas to the client
  • Development of presentation decks
  • Basic Graphic Design — spatial treatments for environment designs, signage and wayfinding, invitations, etc. (Our staff Graphic Designer will own or collaborate on some, but not all, graphic needs)
  • Preparing graphics for print and creating print mechanicals

2D DESIGN: Utilize Adobe CC to create or work alongside a graphic designer to create graphics of all scales - from large-scale environmental branding to the digital invitation or social post. Follow through with print file prep and production, as well as approving proofs and communicating with specialty vendors.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manage internal spreadsheets, external vendors, design budgeting and project timeline for midsize projects to keep on track and hit important agency and client deadlines. Work alongside project designers, whether full-time or contract and often under an Associate Senior or Senior Designer on large-scale projects. Work alongside and collaborate with contract project workers, such as lighting designers, graphic animators, technical directors, and more.

2D DESIGN:  Should be proficient in Adobe CC to tackle minor graphic scopes as needed AND be able to successfully collaborate with a Graphic Designer, who will be responsible for larger graphic scopes. Should have experience preparing graphic files for print and production, as well as approving proofs and communicating with specialty vendors.

The Director of Production is responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of talented producers to execute all brand experiences and multi-faceted activations for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the production team, always with a focus on top-notch client service.
  • Inspire and lead the production team to manage and execute creative, results-driven experiential marketing programs that meet client objectives and deliver against campaign metrics.
  • Work closely with MKGW President, Director of Finance and Director of Business Development to ensure quarterly revenue goals and individual project profitability goals are being met.
  • Collaborate with business development team and seasoned MKGW producers to provide proposal budgets and ensure overall production feasibility during the RFP process. Attend in person pitch and capabilities presentations as needed.
  • Lead intake of potential projects that skip Business Development and go straight to production

Event Account Executive/Associate Producer

Event Producer

MKG is looking for a passionate, driven Producer to join the team!

The position will be responsible for producing large-scale programs for MKG’s New York Office, and also assist the Director of Production in overseeing smaller scale projects and freelance production staff. Project management and oversight are central to this position. This person must be organized, self-motivated, and able to think creatively and quickly, and must be able to approach unique problems in new ways. The ability to work as part of a team is also critical for this position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Skillfully producing large-scale MKGW Events/Programs including, but not limited to:
    • Developing and managing event budgets and reconciling budgets post-event; meet profit goals.
    • Develop project documentation including deliverable timelines, production schedules, run of show, etc.

Senior Graphic Designer

MKG is looking for a talented and versatile Senior Graphic Designer to join our NYC Design team.

Please note this role is a 90-day temp to perm position. 

As a Creative Agency specializing in Brand Experiences, each project is totally different from the next and with that the graphic scopes encompass a wide range of 2D needs, both digital and physical. The right candidate will demonstrate excitement, experience and flexibility in working across a multitude of project types as well as a curiosity for continuously exploring new approaches and executions. 

The Senior Graphic Designer will directly oversee other members of the Graphic Design team. They will also work both independently and collaboratively (with both 2D and 3D designers) on projects at varying capacities—leading projects independently, leading projects collaboratively and supporting others on projects. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have at least some experience working in environmental-related graphic design
