Inspiring Top Black Talent at AfroTech
The AfroTech Conference draws 40K+ attendees who are seeking future-forward career paths. For the fourth consecutive year, we created Google’s presence at the conference, featuring engaging spaces that connected black talent with the company while highlighting innovative career opportunities.
Showcasing Google's Future
We positioned Google as an exciting workplace where prospective talent could make a positive impact through a booth featuring 1:1 conversations with Googlers, installations showcasing emerging tech (and the teams behind it), and a Community Board highlighting Googlers’ achievements and personal journeys.
AfroTech Afterhours
AfroTech attendees lined up to attend our networking event “The Kickback,” designed to foster connections between Googlers and young talent while highlighting local Houston culture through food, drinks, and decor sourced from local black-owned businesses.
Kicking Back, Looking Forward
To showcase projects that talent might work on at Google, we created hands-on experiences at The KickBack including an immersive demo of Google’s Project Starline communication tech, a YouTube Creators Shop hosted by local creators, and the Pixel Real Tone Portrait Studio, highlighting how the new Pixel represents different skin tones authentically.
